Last week, The Vice president of ECOWAS Commission, H.E. Madam Damtien L. Tchintchibidja and team visited the Gambia. In her first official visit outside of Abuja, The ECOWAS Vice President paid a curtesy call to the President of The Republic of The Gambia, The Vice President of the Republic of Gambia and several Cabinet Ministers. The ECOWAS Vice President and team focused most of their visit on the Regional Stabilisation and Development Fund (GPP) implemented by GAMWORKS and GIZ.
The visit created an opportunity for New ECOWAS VP to contribute to the functioning of the project’s governance and to visit some project sites. The team visited the GTTI Annex in MansaKonko where the project constructed an 80 room student dormitory facility and Brufut Fish landing site where the project constructed a modern fish smoking house with improved smoking technology developed by the FAO.
