Welcome to the Official website of Gambian Agency for the Management of Public works (GAMWORKS). GAMWORKS is an autonomous and not-for-profit institution set up in 1993 by The Government of The Gambia, with the assistance from World Bank/IDA. The mandate of the Agency is to implement development projects in the area of public infrastructure, on behalf of the Government of The Gambia and its development partners, such as the World Bank/IDA, OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and African Development Bank (AfDB), KfW (Germany), Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) etc.
Since inception, GAMWORKS has successfully executed development projects all across the country in the excess of 200 million Dollars. Procurement is one of the key areas of specialty. The regulatory framework for all procurement activities undertaken by the institution are embedded in the Agency’s “Manual of Procedures” (MoP) which is readily available to every member of staff. The Manual is in line with the National Procurement Policy of The Gambia (GPPA Act 2014) and the World Bank Procurement Policies.
The MoP covers the core principles of procurement for works, services and goods and is designed to meet the core procurement principles of value for money, economy, efficiency, effectiveness, integrity, and fairness and accountability.
