Elizabeth Carayol-Ndong
is the new Technical Director of the Gambia Agency for the Management of Public Works (GAMWORKS). Prior to joining GAMWORKS, she worked at the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in The Gambia for four years, serving as the Deputy Project Manager and a Certified Peer Reviewer for Buildings. She was Co-principal of a4A Architects for over five years and also worked at the National Authorising Officer Support Unit of the EDF (NAOSU) for four years as the Program Officer for Infrastructure and Rural Development. Elizabeth’s work experience also extends to the UK where she worked for HBG Construction (aka BAM), Fairview Estates and many award-wining architectural firms in the UK.
She holds an MSc in Carbon Management from the University of Edinburgh in the UK, a BA (Hons) in Architecture and a Higher National Diploma in Building Studies from the University of Central England (aka Birmingham City University) in the UK. She is also a Certified Project Manager (PRINCE2 Practitioner).
Her expertise includes project management and contract administration, especially in the framework of the EU and the UN. As a consultant she has implemented many donor-funded projects such as the World Bank, IFAD and AfDB. She was a former board member of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and has sat and chaired several committees in The Gambia. Her hobbies include riding, watching movies and spending time with her family.
Mr Alagie Baboucarr Jabang
is the new Finance and Admin Director of GAMWORKS. He has more than 30 years of working experience at different levels in the Finance Sector. He has worked as Financial Management specialist and/or Financial Controller for the following projects in the Gambia: the Resilience of Organisations for Transformative Smallholder Agriculture Project (ROOTS), National Agricultural land and Water Management Development Project-NEMA, Building Resilience to Recurring Food Insecurity Project (IsDB funded), Building Resilience against Food and Nutrition Insecurity in the Sahel (P2RS) AfDB funded, GATEWAY project funded located at GIPFZA, Community Driven Development Project (CDDP) project – World Bank funded, Sustainable Land Management Project (SLMP)-AfDB funded, Adaptation for Smallholder Agriculture Project (ASAP-CHOSSO)-IFAD funded, National Agricultural Land and Water Management and Development Project (NEMA). He has worked as a Director at the Gambia Revenue Authority, Gambia Investment Promotion and Free Zones Agency, Gambia Competition & Consumer Protection and now GAMWORKS.
He holds a Master of Science, MBA Degree from the University of The Gambia. He is also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) since 2014 under the London College of Accountancy and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) since 2008.
